That's exactly right. The point of the thread is not whether seatbelts should be worn or whether you should stop at red lights nor if those laws should be enforced. The point is, do you think there is justification for law enforcement, cities and counties to opportunistically step up the enforcement in today's economic climate, just to make up for shortfalls in their budget? People are suffering out there. A $200ticket for not having a seatbelt on in a mall parking lot or a $300 fine for going 5 mile per hour over the speed limit can be disastrous to many of the unemployed. My opinion, many police departments are simply being too aggressive in light of the economy.
