Hey Rodney,

This is all good advice... I'd like to add that you should purchase a "donut" or helmet collar to wear around your neck to limit the side-to-side, back'n forth movement of the helmet; kinda like a HANS device, but less expensive.

Also, when you buy glvoes, buy a bright color like yellow or orange. You will use your hands to signal other drivers and corner workers, etc... and having bright colored gloves will help these folks see your hand signals better.
