Bill,

That would be a good way to do it but the politicians would screw it up also. When I bought my property and had the house built I paid cash and the taxes were way to high. So I have benefited from Prop 13, but now the dam surcharges are more than my tax bill. Another brilliant thing from Sacramento. I own one vacant lot that the taxes run around $3.89 a year on. Last year instead of having me pay that lots taxes with the rest, I had to send a money order to some place in Sacramento I think it was, then they process that big amount and take their 80% cut and send the rest back to the county up here. Just how much do you think it cost them to have me send that $3.89 down there and them process it, rather than just pay it with my regular property taxes. I would bet they spent at least $30 dollars to collect that $3.89. Real logic at work there.

Ron
