I also have my wireless ADT system going to my detached garage/shop. I did not have a seperate key pad put in the garage and it is a real pain in the a$$.
If I forget to turn the alarm off before entering the garage it goes off and I get a call from the alarm company. If you don't have a phone in the garage you then race for the house hoping that the cops haven't already been dispatched. I would definately have a controll pad put somewhere in your Garage.
