The only excuse I can offer for such stupidity is that I got home late from a work trip and only had 3 hours sleep. At my age, the brain cells had obviously not yet activated despite the fact that the body was moving.

The only thing that keeps me from self-afflicted bodily harm (other than kicking myself in the a..) is that I know I'm not the only one to have ever suffered from such brain fade.

So after 13 years of nothing worse than stone chips, my beloved SPF023 is in the shop. They are concerned about being able to do a good job of straightening the hinge, so I thought I'd start looking for a replacement.

BTW, the electrical gremlin turned out to be a bad cell in the battery....I think I remember someone predicting that ;-)
