True story.

In 1976 when I lived in Tempe my uncle had a rock shop on the Apache Trail Highway between Mesa and Apache Junction next to the gift store that is still there - I can't remember the name of it right now. Anyway, I'd gone out on a Saturday to see him because I had nothing better to do. After closing we went to some bar in Apache Junction. Outside there were 5 or 6 horses and an equal number of old-style off-road vehicles (4-wheelers). The cowboys working at the working ranch had come in for a cooler.

Right inside the door was what looked like an old coat/hat rack and on it were an equal number of gun belts with guns with real live bullets in them right below the sign that said "leave your guns here".

Cowboys had their chaps and stirrups on too.

I doubt the ranch is working ranch any more. Probably full of houses built of ticky-tacky.
