Second funny story. I was the chairman of the town's planning commission and was at a board meeting to give an update for something and one of the things on the agenda was an ordinance that made it legal for the town to post "no concealed weapons" on their property. Colorado law is inclusionary - unless they specifically disallowed it on town facilities it was legal. So I asked the sheriff (who we contract with for police services) a couple of questions after the meeting about why. Eventually I asked, "so, if I wanted to I could walk down Main street with my pearl handled Colt 45's on my side and you couldn't do anything about it." "Yep, but please don't say that too loudly."

It turns out that UNCONCEALED weapons are uncontrolled, just like in Arizona, proprietors are supposed to have their own policies (like the bar in AZ). Noone does, but I don't think I'd want to be the first to test this theory.

Who says the old west is dead.
