Default A Side Oiler from the FE Gods

I decided to ping Kevin Marti and get a report on the VIN number that we found stamped on my side oiler when we brought it home last fall. This is the engine I found by posting a WTB on Craigslist. It had been sitting in a barn in South Texas since 1973, disassembled.

Based on the seller's representations I knew the engine had come from a 1967 R-code Galaxie. Kevin emailed me my report tonight and here is what it said:

One of only 24 side oilers installed in the 1967 Galaxies. Wow. And there is a date stamp on the block of 6J19, October 19, 1966. And sure enough, the Marti Report says the final assembly date was two days later, October 21, 1966. Man I'd like to find that Galaxie.
