Looks like the Taurus fan/shroud combo is the way to go (if it fits) and not replace the Zirgo fan with a Spal. (half the price!) But, will the Flex-a-Lite Variable Speed Control work with the Taurus fan. I was thinking of hooking it up on the High Speed side and use the Flex Variable Speed Control. Don't want to pull and rewire everything again. The Variable Speed Control worked well before the Zirgo fan took a dump.
