I know just what you mean !!
My dad was an aeronautical engineer, so I've been schooled in a lot of things, starting with " Son when you're up there, you can't pull over & park on a cloud to fix it...so do it right the 1st time and you won't be looking for somewhere to park !"
oh yeah and his favourite twist on Murphy's Law ' O'Tooles Law-Murphy was an optimist !
I'm not anal on under bonnet being tidy..........well maybe a bit.....but nothing spoils it for me is when you ask "show me under the bonnet " on a great looking car and it all goes to ****e because of untidy cabling & plumbing etc
