this past winter I re-worked my side pipes. I removed the 2 1/2" x 24" mufflers and installed Classic's Cobra Packs 3" x 28". The old mufflers had the louvers turned backwards. And they where loud. Very loud at 6000 rpms.
When I installed the new mufflers I turned the louvers the correct way and used a larger diameter muffler and longer to quiet the motor.

It worked. Great sound at low rpms, loud but not obnoxious at 6500. You can talk at 70 mph on the road. I love them. Should have done it years ago.

I got pulled over by a cop a few years back because of my sidepipes. He was three blocks away sitting in the patrol car with the window down. I did a 6000 rpm first gear burnout, showing out for my passenger. He heard me and chased me down. He did not give me a ticket but he got part of my rear end.
