Cutting costs by letting people die

President Obama has promised huge cuts in medical spending -- up to $700 billion, or 30 percent, annually. If we fail to make such cuts, he says, we will face financial Armageddon.

“The cost of our health care is a threat to our economy,” Obama told the American Medical Association in Chicago on June 15. “It is a ticking time bomb for the federal budget.”

A 30-percent annual cut is going to take a big bite out of somebody’s health care. The only question is whose.
