i have one that has the cobra style cover, the other is the one i'm looking to replace and it is different, it must be an explorer style i'm guessing? all the front two ears are the same, the rear on the explorer unit sits on a shelf it looks like with a support mount.
so it looks like i'm trying to replace a cast iron explorer unit with a 99 cobra aluminum 8.8 with 3.27 and ls into which i would like to put a 3.73. anybody know how this will come out?
sounds like the covers will interchange, i'll bet the spline count on the two are different.
did some searching, looks like the explorerer has 31 spline inner, 99 has 28 spline inner=too much work=keep looking.
