Tell me about the adapters between the valve covers and the breathers. Do the valve cover openings have opposing notches?

The each VC has 2 threaded openings (w/baffels) which you can get a couple of different caps for. In the pic you can see one solid and one with the breather. This pic shows them pretty well;

You can get them set up for a PCV as well but I didn't want the hose on top of the VC anyway. I don't know what you mean by "opposing notches."
