I have Classic Chambered mufflers substituted in place of the standard ERA muffler. I have the louvers facing away from the source of the exhaust (toward the exit). The pipes are loud but not obnoxious and have a deeper tone than many I have heard. I started with this set up so I don't know what the gain would be over the stock pipes, but they are definitely less restrictive than the standard ERA units. I don't think I would change anything as these cars should be loud and rumbly, not ear piercing and popping and thats just what I got.
