Default Will Monterey be different without Steve Earle?

I have been attending the Monterey races for well over 20 years and while I always enjoy it, I wonder if Steve Earle not being there (he is moving his event to another track) will make the Monterey Historic different. For instance, Earle decided who got to run and who didn't and I wonder if the new leaders of the event will have the same sort of iron will to kick out those who drive a little too dangerously or think they are in a real race or want to show that they can beat someone who actually raced professionally at LeMans.

On the other hand, those running the event are involved with real racing year around so maybe they will make it even safer.

I also liked the half time events--the occasional appearance of some brand new car, like the Bugatti Veyron, that spun out on its maiden voyage around Laguna Seca. I hope the newbies allow various & Sundry to entertain us at half time on Saturday. And when will the Shelby American marque be the honored marque again? Maybe we won't have to wait until a couple decades have passed now that Earle's no longer deciding that.
