Not enough information.

EFI or carb?

What type of distributor/ignition system?

Does the distributor have vacuum advance?

If you have an old style carb and distributor:

You want 10 - 16 initial depending on cam. 10 for mild cam; 16 for radical cam.

You want 32 -36 total (mechanical + initial) all in by 3000 - 3500 rpm.

Vacuum should add 12 deg at 3 inches of vacuum less than the vacuum your engine idles at.

Note initial is set with vacuum disconnected and plugged.
