I'm more interested in helping folks get the math right than in commenting on their lifestyle choices. So please don't take this as anything other than an effort to inform.
If you were to drive 440 miles in the Prius you'd use 10 gallons of fuel. If you drove an equal number of miles in the Excursion you'd use 55 gallons of fuel. Dividing a total of 880 miles by a total of 65 gallons of fuel, your average fuel mileage is 13.5 MPG, not 26. ... As I noted earlier, when it comes to fuel efficiency what we do with our gas guzzlers matters far more than what we do with our super economy cars.
