Beware replacement and or "air" cars are out in the world also. Some new cars replicate originals so closely knowledge of small build details is required to sort out original versus all else. I looked over a 427 Cobra replica that was so detailed the only obvious detail that stuck out was a custom chassis number nothing like a real 427 Cobras and about 18 digits long. Even the chassis welding looked like 1960s work but the car was made in the 1990s.
As been suggested, check with Ned and or take a knowledge person with you. More than one person has paid top genuine car dollar to then found that a serial number was attached to a replica of some sort.
