IMHO, I would not recoat them. Very restrictive, 1inch by 1inch flow path inside. I put on 3inch glasspacks after the collector. A little welding and fab. Big difference!!! I also used duplicolor silver 1200 degree ceramic header paint out of the can and looks great and has not flaked. You can always reshoot it again with the same paint later.
