Taxes are to fund the function of the Government. Taking care of those who will not or can not take care of themselves is NOT a function of the Government. As I have often said, liberal Utopian dreams are beautiful, and they believe that the Governments function IS taking care of all its citizens. The only problems with the liberal Utopian dreams is that they do not work, have never worked, and never will work. That, and they CANNOT be funded, even with today's imaginary Dollars.
While you liberals dream of a perfect society, the operative word is "DREAM" as in 'pipe dream'. The old rule applicable to all animals, including the human animal, is the strong survive, the weak perish. That will not change.
