Default Thru body pipes not stock on FIA

H Dog -

The thru the body 427 style pipes were not used on original FIA cars. I figured it was a replica, so I'd make it the way I like it, which included the FIA bodystyle (with cut-back doors), with a few 427 style appointments. 427 style items included the thru the body exhaust, rivieted-on hood scoop, LeMans gas filler in RR qtr, and rear-braced roll bar.

I liked the looks of the rear-braced roll bar and riveted on hood scoop, and thought the gas filler (further away from me), and side pipes (better ground clearance than under-body FIA style) were more practical. The pipes required frame modification to the ERA FIA (may not apply to another manufacturer's FIA kit).

I also went with an unusual engine - a 351C - the "big" small-block (THAT necessitated foot-box modifications). Had to have the Webers, too. It sucks gas, but, what the hay, I don't drive it every day.

regards,
