Dean,

I have filters based on micron size, with the smallest micron filter the last before the carb. Each is before a pump. One pump is a backup pump in a three pump system. Most electric fuel pump manufactures recommend a pre-filter before their pump. This paper filter was the last in line before the carb (over kill). You can put a spare in line and not run it, the fuel goes through it with no problem. The backup pump beats being stuck on the road if a pump goes bad, which in the past, I have had happen. The only thing is to run the backup pump every so often so it does not freeze up. The original Daytona Coupes ran a three Bendix pump system and the mechanical one on the engine.
