Less likely to flap in your face if they're pull down. Of course, I've never seen pull-up ones, so I shouldn't mention it.
What I will mention is I always do the passenger belt up when I drive by myself. I don't want the wind to cause one to flap and a metal end ding the paint or chip the fibreglass.
I suspect a five-point is better than my 4-point. I find the shoulder straps pull the lap belt up over time. Next thing I know, the whole mess is getting close to chest hieght.
