The water temp actually came up fast enough to make the heater blow pleasantly warm in the morning chill. It wasn't until the return trip that the warm front from the engine took over.

When I first got my car I was so excited to have it I was driving it 30 miles one way to work in December. No rain but it got cold. What was I thinking????
I drove a huge '68 Merc station wagon for almost ten years. It overheated frequently, finally popped a freeze plug (or cracked the block - couldn't see that spot) and never had a working heater after the first year. I learned to live with the climate. Now I'm a wuss and fiddle with the temp setting all the time.

I miss that car, though. It was just... "one of those."
