Sounds like sme more creative engineering on the part of the filter makers. They assume if it fits it ok, and allows the seller to stock fewer numbers. like PH43 being sold for PH8A and vice versa. I would be sure that the specs are correct (like drain back valves, bypass pressure, etc.) I bring this up because back in my long lost youth, I bought an economy filter that 'fit' a Toyota (sisters) and was correct in the application guide, but lacked an anti drainback valve which let all the oil flow out of the filter when the motor was stopped, making 'no oil' starts every time.
