There was a bit of US iron delivered locally back then but mostly big sedans like the Pontiac Parisian, Chev Impala, Ford Galaxy, Dodge Phoenix etc. I'm note sure if they came through the Aussie GM, Ford and Chrysler dealers or were privately imported.

These cars appear to be factory right hand drive versions so I'm inclined to think they were done by some local division of the parent company. A friend of mine just recently sold a 64 Pontiac that he bought from an old guy next door about 20 years ago. I think he had owned it since new. I went over it and it certaily looked like a factory right hand drive setup to me.

There is a steady stream of US muscle cars that makes its way across the pacific to enthusiasts down here. Fortunately our registration requirements don't force you to convert LHD to RHD for classic cars. I think the cutoff is newer than 25 years.
