Default Sad day in the Cobra community

I just received word that Bill Parham, founder of Southern Automotive Engines here in Georgia, passed away today after a long battle with cancer. He did leave the company in great hands between his wife Susan and Lyle.

Rest in Peace, Bill. I'm really going to miss you.

We lost a corner stone of the industry. Sincere condolences to Susan.

Rest in peace my friend....condolences to Susan and family. Bill helped me a lot when I was preparing to buy my Cobra. I credit him with my getting off to a good start! Hopefully Susan and Lyle will continue Southern Automotive.

Sad news indeed. Bill was one of the genuine good guys.
I broke some rocker parts in an engine nearly 5 years after Bill built it for me and he just said "tell me what parts you need and I'll get them sent right over to you" and wouldn't accept any payment for them or even the shipping.
He will be missed.

Paul

I will miss him dearly. Mr. Bill, as I called him, was nothing except phenomenal in his ways. He and Miss Susan were so kind and helpful with my project. I will always be grateful. He had the best Southern demeanor! He knew that FE big block like no other. He could walk you through every single passage over the phone, to the last screw. Pretty amazing.

God and Cobra's speed!

Cheers

Wow! So sad to hear about Bill's passing . He was a wonderful man that provided Ford folks with some of the best engine builds ever and always at a competitive price. Bill and Susan were always a joy to talk to on the phone ( I just loved hearing Susan's charming voice, it just made my day), she was always so helpful and committed to getting things done right.
I just talked to her and Lyle a few days ago regarding a part number, Lyle took care of my question and was especially polite and helpful.
Southern Automotive is one of the few class companies around that stands behind their products.
RIP Bill, I still tell my friends here in Arizona about how you asked me about "how I was going to drive my cobra", the result was a very good cam shaft.
Thanks Bill Parham !

Bill Bess -Lake Havasu City, AZ.

Gees What a shame. I was just going to call them. I sold my SPF to a guy in Denver and was going to let them know. I just put a post to sell my trailer on AC Cobra. To let the home town boys have first shot at it and ran across your post on Bill.
Take care Tony

Wow - really sad news. I spoke to Bill and Susan several times when I was exploring the feasibility of switching to an FE. A very kind, pleasant and patient man. May he rest in peace. All the best to Susan - my condolences for your loss.
