Varsity Cruise

Anybody up for a Friday night cruise down to the Varsity. If the weather stays this nice Andrea and I will probably head down after the traffic clears and eat a few dogs and rings. We can hook up anywhere and head down as a little thundering group.

Not what the doctor recommended that's for sure, unless it is good for the ears. Man, your wife is a cheap date!! :D :D Great idea once my frigggggggin car is done. No fault of any of my partners in this venture other than I am "cheap" and want it done right. Time is the price  .

GeorgiaSnake 09-09-2003 08:37 PM

The Tang is acceptable

GeorgiaSnake 09-10-2003 06:25 PM

Hello ! Hello ! Is anybody home ? Is it the venue, the menu, me ? What gives here - fabulous weather - fabulous cars and no takers. Chill don't bother with your smartass answer or I'll keep the front seal :p. TC are you on a diet %/ buy the way - the wife ain't cheap - she keeps me  by giving my treasures to Goodwill and I have to replace them over and over

Randy and all,

1. Moon River Street Rods is having an open house/cruise-in Saturday from 11-4 by the way. www.moonriverstreetrods.com

2. Randy, have you done the Varsity in Alpharetta yet? Wish I could get rich serving lousy dogs and burgers like the Gordy's did. %/

3. Maybe you need to give to "charity" like Goodwill as well :D .

Tony Radford 09-10-2003 07:14 PM

I have no Cobra. I'm Cobra-less, Cobra nada. Snake-free garage. And it's only been a day!

GeorgiaSnake 09-10-2003 08:32 PM

TC we have done the Alpharetta location but miss the curb service we grew up with. I can't tell you how many times I went to the downtown Varsity in my misguided youth. It was the place to set up the grudge matches and my sweet 55 Chevy ruled. :JEKYLHYDE a 12 second daily driver.

We would take in the Moon River deal if we weren't heading back up to Cleveland for a baseball game Saturday.

Tony I feel your pain. When my car was down with the front seal I cried myself to sleep counting missed drives.

Randy, see, I go to the Alpharetta store, and WALK to get my food. Makes it "diet" Varsity, doesn't it? ;)

GeorgiaSnake 09-11-2003 04:44 AM

TC start walking and we'll see you Friday night at the downtown Varsisty ;) ;)

Hey Ga. Snake,

Where are you in the Atlanta area?? I see you said you were going to Cleveland so I was wondering if you were close to there? I have property in Clev. and go there about 4 times a year. Sure wish my Cobra was finished so I could make that Varsity run with you, it sounds like fun.

Randy,
I've already had Varsity once this week. I guess twice wouldn't kill me or would it? We may make it down for an FO or something though. I'll confirm tomorrow. What time you going?

DC

GeorgiaSnake 09-11-2003 06:12 AM

Earl I'm in north metro Atlanta. We are going to Cleveland to watch our son play baseball. We are also looking for property in north Ga - we've had it with the traffic and rat race. It's time to pull out all of our teeth and move to the mountains.

Dave we are open to any time after the traffic clears and an FO sounds like a winner.

When ya'll figure out when the traffic clears in Downtown Atlanta, let me know

I could be up for the ride...Pick a time and I will see if its possible.

p.s. I've done the Alpharetta Varsity... I agree it would be nice to have mediocre service and a marginal product and still get rich!! Slice me off a piece of that!! ... but the company, the weather, and the cars would make it worth it.

Randy;

That sounds like a great trip, unforntunately I've been "scheduled" by my bride to attend a friend's party Friday evening.

I'll look out for the next trip, and must say I probably won't miss that varsity heartburn.

Charlie;)

I guess we'll be eating at 10PM then? :D

P.S. there's something real puuurrrty in the back of my pickup truck that I picked up at Southern today. :D :D :D

Tony Radford 09-11-2003 02:01 PM

Mike, did you notice if my car was still in less than four pieces? Bill told me that John had to use a hack saw to cut my hood hinges so they could pull the motor. I feel my blood pressure going up.

Cracker 09-11-2003 02:09 PM

Tony - the best part was that they could listen to the Beach Boys while doing it!

Get that car back so we can get it on again!

Tony Radford 09-11-2003 02:51 PM

Tony, I think I left ZZ Top in the player. Bill would never allow it.

ToyCollector 09-11-2003 03:04 PM

Tony, all I noticed was the new telephone technology the Parhams have had to install to block your phone calls. They got close to doing it when doing Clyde's motor, but you "out Clyded" Clyde. CallerID, number blocking, special call routing for offending parties to a perpetural hold line, etc. What have you been doing to them? Don't you know the price goes up the more you call? :D :D ;)

Your motor was definitely being turned into many pieces, until I showed up and we got the whole shop involved in engine run in and packaged for transport.

GeorgiaSnake 09-11-2003 03:14 PM

TC which motor did you get ? Or do you really know  If you are home I would like to swing by and check it out before you hook the chain to it and attach it to your boat.

Tony you get the award - you did the impossible - "out Clyded" Clyde.
