Sunday cruise and chow to Dillard, GA.
Any of you folks game for a cruise up to Dillard on Sunday? I have my wife talked into the trip. For those of you who haven't been to Dillard House Resturaunt, it's a great place, great food, good scenery. It's a nice ride with plenty of passing zones heading up through Tallulah Falls. What do you say you grab your spouses, girlfriends, kids, same-sex partners, pet goats (if you have the four-point Simpson farm animal adapter) or whatever. Looks like a beautiful day shaping up. Plenty of those little road side shops selling all of those garbage items women love to look at. And the beauty is that a Cobra is too small to haul any of it home! Life is beautiful!

We are tied up Deb's grand dad is 99 so we are going to his birthday lunch |
Alex, give me a break. He has birthday lunches every year. He's only 99. But whatever. Fine!
|
This may be a possibility for me. I've driven past that area and yes you are right, the drive would be nice. Unfortunately, I won't know until later in the week. I'll let you know.
|
Tony,
Sounds like a winner. I'll let you know later this week. Finally got my carb on and I need to drive somewhere :D |
I'm checking ! Sounds like fun as long as the Demon guys wait for the holley guys.
Randy |
TR - What time and meeting place were you thinking? How long do you plan the entire trip to be as I have babysitter issue's to work out.
|
Tony
We are throwing him a party. Were not sure he'll be here for the next one (me either) |
Alex, you know I'm kidding. Your priorities are obviously in the right place. 99 years old, that's awesome! My Grandmother on my father's side recently turned 97. She has already outlived her hubby of 62 years and as of two months ago, her three sons. I hope I inherited a couple of those genes! Have a great time at the party and think about what the world was like when he was born. We'll see you on one of the rides soon.

Tony
I know you were kidding no offense taken. About 8 or 9 years ago we had a 100th for his sister who at the time was still living on her 80 acre farm alone she now in assisted living but is still kicking. Deb's down stream from this bunch so after Im gone some young guy's going to be eyeing my cobra!!! |
Alex I can see Deb riding into the sunset in the red beast - with two demons (carbs of course).
|
Sure, whatever you figure out, I'm up for a drive in the country. I don't have one of Tony's 4 point llama adapters, or whatever he said, so I will see if the wife can come.
I love the part about the car being too small to shop!!! time? place? (yeah, I know, picky picky....) :D |
You can bring a goat, but the Dillard House has a "no Llamas allowed" sign in the lobby. Those folks up in Rabun County haven't entered the 21st century yet. My suggestion for you North Atlanta (yankees) would be to plot a reasonable course to 985. Those of us in Gwinnett (southerners) would catch 985 at I85 and run all the way up to 41. We can meet somewhere along 985 unless ya'll (southern term for "yous guys") want to come up 85 as well.
|
For those of us in the north we can go 400 - Cleveland - Clarksville - Tallulah Falls - Clayton - Dillard. What time ?
Randy |
Randy, you picking the slow route so you can keep up with the speed Demons ??
...but seriously, folks... I have been up the 985 route and the 400 route and either one suits... we will have to allow more time on the 400 route... maybe 985 up and backroads if time allows on the return drive? |
A big part of the event is having us all travel together. So either yous guys can come over to 985 or I will travel over to 400. I been the 985 route many times, but I've never done the 400 way.
|
Tony,
It's looking better and better for me on Sunday. If the north guys come across 20, we can meet them at I-985 and 20 and then shoot up to Dillards from there, Otherwise, let's you and I meet on 20 like last time and then go over to 400 and meet somewhere over there and then loop around to Dillards. **) :JEKYLHYDE :D |
Hector, sounds like a plan. I wonder if anyone else from this area is going? I suppose you and I represent the hard core activists in this part of town.
|
TR - Hard core maybe, but with a radio? Are there ANY other players on your side? Have a great time fella's!
|
Tony, can I assume that you ain't going to make it? You know if you don't come, we're just going to talk about you. Babysitter? Haven't you ever heard of a piece of rope and a tree? I'm sure we're talking a half day anyway.
