Cruise on Sunday - May 23th? Anyone?

Anyone interested in getting together and doing some cruising in the Cobras on Sunday morning or evening? I'd prefer the morning cause the late afternoons seem to be inviting scattered t-storms as of late - and I don't feel like re-experiencing the one I found on Tues afternoon as I returned from the Barber Shop.

Common meeting place - cruise for couple of hours - stop for some lunch (B-B-Q)?

I could be up for a ride. Morning is best for me too. Does Hooters serve brunch?:D

svobud 05-20-2004 04:40 AM

I''m not sure what time they open - but I think it's something like 11am. This time, I'm bringing a camera!

Johan 05-20-2004 05:46 PM

Hooters on 41 at noon ?

mzhun 05-20-2004 06:59 PM

Bud, stop by the house...this week is the irrigation system and I have an extra shovel! See you at Hooters at noon.

svobud 05-21-2004 04:43 AM

Very funny Matt and you can wish in one hand and hold that shovel in the other ... but I ain't stopping by to dig you a drain ditch.

Hooters at Hwy 41 and Old Hwy 41 (Kennesaw) is fine by me.

Matt - you want to meet up earlier and do some cruising prior or just wait til after lunch?

RGINN 05-21-2004 12:14 PM

I'll join you guys if its alright. Just hold off any major downpours. See you at noon. Look for a silver no stripes car and a person looking lost. Rob

Ya bunch of waxers and girl watchers! Come DRIVE with the Big Boys after your tired of the hoties. JO & I can meet you off of 575 for a spirited drive./? If not have fun. BTW, what the heck, I thought your get together was a morning event - 12:00 noon?

ToyCollector 05-21-2004 02:51 PM

OK Cracker, we are meeting at 11:59AM then. :p

Cracker 05-21-2004 05:19 PM

TC - Polisher!

chill 05-21-2004 06:15 PM

Good thing ya'll decided to get out and drive before it gets hot

Cracker, which way you headed from 372?

Cracker 05-21-2004 08:07 PM

Chill - I assume your first statement is for the 12:00, I mean 11:59 time.

372 - NORTH up through jasper north of 53 west of 575 and then back through Jasper. I've taken this route about 3 times and enjoy it - obviously.

chill 05-22-2004 03:50 PM

Yep, I was a little worried that the early riser-run would cause me to miss the Monaco F1 race in the AM...

I will try to meet you at 1:30, I don't think I will make it to Kennesaw.

Alex Donghi 05-23-2004 08:12 AM

Which Hooters we talking about the one we met last time inside 285 on 41 which is the same as Cobb Parkway?

svobud 05-23-2004 09:24 AM

Not that one Alex - this one is several miles North on Cobb Pwy from there .. in Kennesaw. It's on the corner of Cobb Pwy N and Old Hwy 41 N.

I'm too stressed to participate. As I was working on the car yesterday, I noticed I picked up a wicked stone chip in the nose area of one of my stripes. It stuck out like an inflamed roid. I picked up a body repair kit and a couple of white touch up applicators yesterday and began the surgical procedure this morning. There's something disturbing about rubbing sandpaper across a surface I've been polishing to a mirror finish for over two years. To bondo, wet sand, paint, clearcoat, polish and buff an area the size of a match head is enough of a bummer. I couldn't imagine doing a whole car. Where's Bruce when you need him?

svobud 05-23-2004 04:00 PM

ahhh .. you didn't miss too much at Hooters. We didn't even go inside. When I got there John Owens (and the Mrs) and Ron Gunn (if I remember his name correctly) were the only ones who showed up. Ron brought out one sweetazz Superformance Daytona Coupe.

We stood around in the parking lot until 12:30 and then went over to Cherokee Co and met up with Tony (Cracker) and Joel (redUnique) at 1:30pm. Fattybri was feeling lucky and rode shotgun with Cracker - who showed up with NO DOORs and the seatbelts (lapbelts only) installed backwards. "yikes."

From there it gets hazy. I think we ended up in either East Tennessee or West South Carolina. I made it home with somewhere close to 300 miles (round trip) clicked off on the odometer.

I took a couple of pics .. I'll post them up in a few.

Cracker 05-23-2004 06:29 PM

Whoa Copy - The seat belts weren't installed backwards - simply the cut down belts for slimies like me were on the College Linebackers side (not even close to fitting) so.... I simply had to switch the two around. Geez - it's hard to get respect around here - do ya think missing doors hurts?%/

Regarding the "extended" trip - I'm sorry about missing the turn. We were supposed to go through Talking Rock, back though Jasper and return to the meeting spot. All in all that miss direction proved to be some of the best roads of the day!:D I think our average speed for the outing once past Jasper was in the 80's! I look forward to next time - with doors I hope!

ToyCollector 05-23-2004 06:36 PM

You complain about my car car not being done, and here you are driving around in your Jeep Cobra CJ-5 without doors and homegrown seatbelts. Talk about no respect. :p

Cracker 05-23-2004 06:42 PM

TC -   Well at least I can care less about what people think (I instructed all parties to refer to it as the competition lightweight version) and drive the darn thing - even if I look a little silly but that nothing new!:D
