Sunday-Varsity-ATL

Hello All!

We're going to the Varsity on Sunday. Looks to be a pretty good show.
We'll leave from McMichael Motorsports in Braselton, GA around 8:30am.
We should arrive by 9:30 or so for the show.

Anyone wanna go?

Marco- You should join us if you're in town with your crazy vette-the show is hosted by the 'vette club.

Regards,
Greg

John Bleakley ford much better, annual car show sunday, lot's of parking..

GeorgiaSnake 08-06-2004 06:36 PM

I vote Varsity. It is close enough that if I were as conditioned as TC I could walk. What show and what time?

Randy

PS TC has trick shoes that are low mileage specials.

Chiperb 08-06-2004 06:52 PM

Go to both!

What time does the John Bleakley one start? I believe the Varsity show starts at 9am

Sorry, can't make it. I'm teaching teens how to drive this Sunday...and spending a little time on the autoX courses we set up for them....

Anyone need shoes? Size 10.5? They have some miles on 'em as Cracker thinks I never drive my car.

I'll head down late morning after church.

The Varsity in Athens has it's monthly show this evening, as does the Ingles in Loganville(I know most of you scumbags live on the northside, but a few of us live on the good side of town :p )

INGLES    :JEKYLHYDE They closed all of them around here - not enough demand for pigs feet, lard and the other assorted tid-bits they sold.

Randy, mock and ridicule the Ingles, eh? The great thing about the vacant Ingles in Loganville(although they did build a new one next to it, some business plan  ) is that it provides a nice venue for a show. It was my first time attending a show there, and I was plesantly surprised. There were a lot of street rods, rat rods, resto mods, Mustangs and muscle cars, but not one Cobra(kinda refreshing:D ). I got a lead on a GT350 clone from a guy with a nice GT 350 clone, and met a guy that knows several of the scumbags that darken the doorway here on our little slice of interweb heaven.
Later in the evening, I took my lovely bride to the Varsity in Athens for an FO. As luck would have it, there was a cruise in/show there. There was a bunch of nice iron to be seen(one luck guy bought a sweet #'s matching '69 Camaro SS for $12,500!,wish I would have seen it first), and I found a '69 Z-28 that I will probably go buy later this afternoon(it was dark by the time I saw it).
At the Athens show there were 4 Cobras, one of which was the SPF Coupe from Braselton. The rest were all nice(a Red on from Forsyth, who dat?), a blue one, and a beautiful Green car with tan/cream stripes(I love the cars that take the paint road less traveled).
All in all,not a bad afternoon, went to Loganville to pick up the Snapper(lawn mower ya pervert ;) ),and Athens for a FO, saw plenty of nice rides, and more than likely culled a '69 Z-228 from the herd. Sweet!

Jim

Oh yea, you got a problem with lard? Don't you like biscuits?:3DSMILE:

GeorgiaSnake 08-08-2004 06:03 AM

SFCJ all those cars and not one 69 Firebird Convert :p

Come on Randy. Let's head over to the Ford show.

GeorgiaSnake 08-08-2004 07:26 AM

I'm just sitting here trying to figure out what works - I need to be back home around 12:00. What time is the Varsity thing?

Any regular Atlanta meetings?

Do you guys have any regular get togethers? I'm new to this and looking for my first. Figure I could pick up some good lessons learned type stuff at a local event and maybe even find a good car to buy.
Thanks!
Scott

Superformance and Factory Five both have dealers in town now. Factory 5 in Dawsonville opening soon, plans to have a BBQ there and some cars to looks at-will help you with the build (technical)if you want. cb

GeorgiaSnake 08-08-2004 09:26 PM

Scott summer seems to scatter the group. Fall will be better - I hope. If you want to see and ride in a Unique shoot me an email or PM. I'll give you the run down on my build and even give you something to drink.

Randy

Drinks for rides...

Wow Randy, that would be great, and I'm glad to buy the drinks in exchange for a ride. Talked to Bruce at Jodecomotors in McDonough and he's going to send me some info on a Unique roller, so am interested to see one live.

Let me know what works for you. I'm at Holcomb Bridge and Barnwell. Look forward to connecting.
Thanks!

Where were all you McMichael Cobra guys at 8:30? I had a bunch of family obligations on Sunday so the Varsity trip was out, but I did bike over for to drool on some sidepipes, and NADA. The Kawasaki did like that cool air on Sunday morning 'though.

GeorgiaSnake 08-09-2004 02:47 PM

I (we) spent most of the weekend looking at houses on Lake Lanier. Believe it or not I haven't cranked the Cobra for at least two weeks. Now that the weather seems to be cooling a bit I'll start getting it out.

Randy
