This weekend- 1pm Sunday! My House!
I know I missed last weekend, as the idea had not occured to me until yesterday when I saw a beautiful Cobra replica.
But I really need your help if you can.
My husbands birthday is May 28th. His dream car is a Factory Five Cobra and of course I will do anything in my power to get the man what he wants. I am an import gal but what the hey, these things are amazing.
So here's what I am looking for: anyone want to give my hubby a ride for his birthday on May 28th? Or at least let him drool *near* your car? We're gear heads, and I've had loads of hp before, but this is his dream and I want to give him a thrill. I know it would bless his little socks off. And it's probably his last birthday as a guy without kids or a pregnant wife!
I know this is way out of left field and you probably think I am nuts but I have been part of a lot of car communities and I am hoping someone out there might help me out in a birthday surprise above all surprises.
Then again, how will I ever come up with one to top this??

You forgot to mention where you guys live? I assume Atlanta, but you never know on this forum. I should have the 28th open and I really don't mind giving someone a look-see of mine or a triple digit ride. Really kind of depends on the weather.

Hey there-
We are located in Canton/Woodstock off Sixes Rd. but of course would be happy to travel (gosh, I sure do sound desperate!). I see you're in Paulding- not a problem for us to head out your way!!

Just PM me with directions where ya'll live and a contact ph number. I don't mind putting miles on mine. Again - it's always depend on the weather conditions on that day. Rain clouds = the FFR staying put in the garage.
Maybe I can talk some of the others into tagging along and turn this into a group drive up towards Ellijay or something?

Would do prior to the 28th. Will be out of town if that is Memorial Day weekend. Luthersnake and SVO Bud can give roadster rides-I'll offer Coupe rides (one of the few FINISHED ones in the SE!!) cb

Hey guys!
Thanks again for all the offers. I will accept any and all cobras in my driveway for sure.
Here's what I'm thinking. Hubby and I could just be relaxing or whatever and you guys could pull up in the driveway at once (enough room for 4 or 5 of you guys). I would love to see the look on his face.
I've driven 1200 hp cars on a regular basis before but there is nothing like a rocket car.. power to weight ratio is QUITE a different story in your cars. He will either pass out from excitement or his jaw will be bleeding from hitting the pavement so much.
May 28th is Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend. We usually attend church early but I'm sure that we could forego it if you guys need to come early in the morning or whatnot.
It's now just 10 days away! He has NO clue. He told me he thought I was taking him out of town somewhere. This is SO much better.
Let me know.
We live off of Sixes Rd. on I-575 on the Woodstock side of Canton.
If you feel better meeting at a location closer to you, that would be fine. And we could meet at a restaurant and I'll buy you guys some beer!

I also live off the sixes Rd. in Highland Point. If you would like to discuss a surprise ride we could meet at Golds Gym on Riverstone on Friday May 19th at 4 PM. I'll bring the Cobra.

It's amazing that we are all so close. I'm not sure if I will be available but I live in Bridgemill at the end of sixes. I also work out at Gold's Gym on Riverstone. I had the car up there last week. I'll follow the thread to see where it ends up and I will attend if I can.

There's a QT market at sixes exit. I guess a bunch of us could meet up there, but give us a time - after lunch.
Mzhun - you feel like taking a 2 car convoy over?

sixes rd is under heavy construction for a widening project. If you get off and turn right to go towards the QT it's cool but if you go left where all of the subdivisions are it's rock chip central. I live all the way at the end where sixes and bells ferry meet so I usually go up to holly springs and go around. Food for thought. Not sure which neighborhood sourstraw lives in as to how far down sixes it is.

Bud, I am up for a drive Sunday. Just let me know when and where. Sourstraw, how about 1PM at your house? We all can meet at the QT after a drive and lunch and head over...

Wow - you guys really sucked on the showing up part. I was the only one who actually made the effort.
You guys should have seen the look on this guy's face when pulled up in the driveway. Priceless. I took Frank for about a 1 1/2 hr ride up to Ellijay and back. Then I let him take Brittany for a ride. I think they're bitten.

Bitten indeed! Bud, I can't thank you enough for taking the time (and gas $) to come all the way out from your neck of the woods and not only give me a ride but LET ME DRIVE!!! I would have filled her up for you, but I was so excited when we pulled into the Chevron that you were about to let me drive, I totally forgot my manners.
I had the time of my life yesterday, despite my injuries! I managed to keep my calves off the pipes, but I forgot to put sunscreen on the tops of my knees and when I was giving Brit a ride, I went to turn around in a cul-de-sac and forgot how little elbow-room there was, whacking the tip of my elbow right on the top edge of the door! It was easily worth every bit of pain!
We rode up 575 to Ellijay and then over and down to Jasper, down highway 53 back to 575. It was a great cruise, with the sun on my face, the wind in my hair, those side pipes reporting with everything from a mellow rumble to mellifluous roar, and people practically breaking their necks to turn and look! I had a blast and got a lot of good brain-picking time with Bud. I am already refining my FFR in my head! (of course I have been doing that for years, but now I have some ACTUAL SEAT TIME!!)
Again, I can't thank you enough, Bud, for taking the time out of your Memorial Day weekend (and the time out of your life to serve our country!) to come and take someone you have never met or spoken to for a ride and drive in such a beautiful car!
I have some pics on the computer at home, I will post them when I get a chance.
Thanks again, Bud!!
