Why do you need 110 octane?

Do you run a very high compression motor? If you are running 10:1 or there about you don't need more than 93 octane. You may not be getting as much power out of higher octane fuel unless you are 12:1 or better. It smells better to run race fuel but you will not get better power unless the car is tuned to use the high octane fuel. The specific gravity of the high octane is higher than regular fuel or something like that. I don't get more power out of race fuel. If I tune the carbs for it then I cannot run 93 octane and perform well. I drive the car on the street and don't want to keep tuning back and forth from race fuel to street fuel setup. That's why I don't run the race fuel in my Cobra. I do in my racecar but that is not driven on the street and I can get race fuel at the track all the time, most of the time I bring it along to save$$$ but it's hard to brimg enough for the whole weekend. Good luck!!
