While I dearly love MK IVs (Duh!) this is neither fish nor fowl.
It is a "customized" MK IV as it was not built by Autokraft in this configuration nor is it a 1960s "Cobra" and while very nicely done, it is after all a custom, personalized car.
I don't doubt the cost of the conversion but I think RM are a little optimistic in their sale price prediction.

Reason: you don't spell "and" with an "M"!

I question the validity of this document "A memo dated November 3, 1999, indicates a cost of $142,843.69 (please contact an RM representative for further details) for the overhaul, not counting the original purchase price of the car, which was in excess of $45,000." Sounds to me like RM does as well

Whilst it's good to keep MkIVs as MkIVs, on this side of the Pond an uprated engine plus changes limited to the more attractive old style Mk111 dashboard can enhance the value.

Cobra Make, Engine: Don't think I'll be getting a Cobra for a long time... Do have '94 RX-7 R2.

Perhaps those expensive BF Goodrich Radial TA tires make up a large percentage of the now claimed $234K costs of this car.
