Ken Pike - Streetrodpainter - Now's the time!

Hi Folks,

I just got off the phone with Ken Pike. He is a little slow right now with only 5 cobras in the shop at the moment. He's been cranking out excellent work and now is a good time to get on his list if you've been thinking about a paint job! I can't say enough good things about this shop. Ken did an awesome job on the bossjbl and very reasonable.

You can reach Ken at:

Thanks for reading this post, John

John,
I couldn't agree more. Kens' work is stellar! My Cutting Edge Replica is one of the five in his shop right now. When I first saw his work, it was a no brainer that he was the right choice to paint my car.

Very nice JBL John.

Chris

  • You must already have a banner ad here to post any advertisement.
  • Ads should be posted to this forum area (the "Advertisers Forum") only. (this is not an open policy for all forums)
  • Ads can not be product comparisons....Stick to the qualities of your product or service.
  • Do not post information about your product/service on someone elses existing ad.
  • You may include pictures.
  • You may include links to your site.
  • Absolutely NO SPAMMING! (read on for details)

If you have a new product line, do not make separate threads for each product in a line. If you have a discount to offer on select items, include all of them in a single post. If it feels like abuse of the policy, it probably is, so send me a note and I'll let you know.

Hopefully this helps the businesses and it helps the members here by not cluttering the rest of the site with ads (this has not been a problem to this point, but given the number of questions around this lately, it was just a matter of time.

Which part of this did you guys not understand? Maybe this Ken guy would like to buy a banner both here and on the other cobra forum since he expects to derive so much business from them. Does not seem fair to those who pay to advertise on these sites, does it?

jmarsey 05-03-2006 11:23 AM

Hey Chris,

Yeah, Ken is an exceptional body and paint guy. I know he did a lot of r&d on the Cutting Edge body which really came out beautiful. Are you going to have your car done by the Cobra Bash? That’s going to be quite the cobra when you are done. Looking forward to checking it out.

Ken Pike has nothing to do with this post. It's my fault. I though I was doing something good for someone else. If I screwed up by posting in the wrong place than please, by all means, address me.

Sorry to have offended you "davesnothere" I thought I was posting in the appropriate forum. But then again, what the heck do I know?

John,
Thanks for the kind words on my car. To answer your question, no, unfortunately my car will not be completed in time for the Bash. I was really pushing to get it done, but it wasn't in the cards I guess.

"davesnothere", please excuse my giving kudos to an excellent painter in an effort to let other members know of quality options out there for them. Certainly was not trying to undermine your system.

Thanks for the "warm fuzzy feeling".
Chris

If I was a paying advertiser, which I am not, and I saw someone coming in to advertise their business without paying for it when I had, boy would I be pissed off. Seeing that Ken does not pay for his advertising here or on any other Cobra forum, but he posts quite out in the open soliciting business, you would think once more that he would want to spend a little of his profits to advertise where he expects his business to come from. If you did so here for him, would you not read the guidelines first that state that this forum is for paid advertisers. Gee I guess not/. Warm and fuzzy only goes so far, when sopmeone wants my money, they should have to pay for that right at least here and elsewhere. I am just surprised that Bill and Brent have not clamped down on such free solicitations.

streetrodpainte 05-03-2006 11:52 AM

"davesnothere" .... I have a gentlemens agreement with Bill on "the other forum".... shoot me an email about your banners and what they cost.... dang I wish someone would fix my screen name to be streetrodpainter...can't seem to get the last "r" in there...cheers, SRP

Okay, I just have to ask- with only 2 posts, who the heck is "davesnothere"? I don't see moderator anywhere on his profile so what's the deal?

so since I too now only have two posts...can I say to him....myob?????? :)

Three Peaks 05-03-2006 12:35 PM

Ken,
IMHO, this is between you and Brent. The moderators may have something to say but somebody just jumping in here out of left field isn't what this site is all about.
The fact is, lots of us post on the board where we've gotten good service, a great price, or a quality product- or all three and never get called on it. If you were here soliciting yourself it might be a different matter but I don't see this thread as any of "davesnothere"'s business.
His profile isn't exactly helpful to explain his outburst either, so who knows what pulled his chain this morning?

I've seen some of Ken's paint jobs and they are absolutely awesome! If I could swing it in my budget, I may have him paint mine. Of course, now I have to budget a couple hundred dollars for gas to deliver it to him so I'll have to think on it. BTW Ken, what kind of Tequila do you drink? (in case I need something "special" done to my car?) :)
E-mail me if you have a minute.

Bob

jeff....who's jeff????

Three Peaks 05-03-2006 01:14 PM

Sorry Ken,
Major brain fart this morning. All fixed now.

As a paid advertiser, allow me to jump in here for a moment. I do not see what the big deal is, Ken is well known in the industry and a loyal (tough to come by these days) customer has posted that he (Ken, aka:StreetRodPainter) has some extra bandwidth at his shop right now. Seeing that you are just a newbie on these forums, perhaps you should sit back and allow those that have been here for a while (and once again who are paid advertisers) speak for ourselves......

Just my two cents worth on this particular thread.

Bill S.

PS: Ken, remember "no good deed goes unpunished":p:LOL:

Quite correct.

There is no foul here. John did what so many others do... post about a good experience with a supplier or a vendor.

I am glad to see Ken check in. He has quite a good reputation on the F5 site.

The rules cited above... well, it's clear that they apply to an out-of-the-blue, first-person posting by a commercial enterprise, without any forum participation.

We don't expect a vendor to have an ad before he can be spoken about here.
If Ken likes the community here and feels that he can effectively promote his business on ClubCobra, then he can decide if a banner ad will help.

I prefer to welcome newcomers.

davesnothere ...if want to discuss your agenda, send me a PM.

Thanks
Ron

Hey Ken,

Don't sweat the previous poster's attempt to interject negativity into what was originally a great referral (and still is) by one of (hundreds) of your happy customers here on ClubCobra.com.

Since I know you were probably not specifically aware of the ability to run advertising/banners here on ClubCobra, just let me know if you need any help with that and I'd be glad to talk with Brent to get you set up at some point in the future. I've already helped a few others and many of us support this site directly and indirectly in many ways. :) Glad to see you finally got signed up on ClubCobra.

Take Care, and we are looking forward to seeing you at WSCB in a few weeks! Duane
