Building My Butler Cobra. Continuation. Album 2
I guess There is a limit to the number of photos that can be posted in an album. So I've added more photos of the progress here.
LED lights
I think that the light matches the hood scoop. An acceptable choice, I think, if you have to have this non original add-on. I by no means stick to...
A friend of mine had his 1972 Ferrari driven over. The SUV driver claimed he did not see the brake lights. So there you go for my excuse.
8" Damper/Harmonic Balancer installation and now ready for the Crank Trigger wheel.
Moly lubed up ready for the billet cover.
Blue printed the oil pump per instructions from my Oerformance Engine building guide.
Love this one piece sump gasket. Looks like I should have no oil drips. We'll see!
Adding the -8AN suction line fitting into the sump for the Pre-Lube oil pump.
Done- Ready for primer and touchup paint.
Gear Pump ready for installation. It has a programmable module, not shown here. That will control a pre & post lube cycle.
Assembly of the custom made fitings with the pressure relief bypass valve.
Adapting/making the pump fittings suitable for NPT & AN connectors.
Trial fit of the custom made fittings.
The back side of the extra instrument panel that will control the dual heater/defrost fans, and also the extra gages.
Mock up of the additional instrument panel that will be made from 3/16" thick aluminum. It fits nicely on the transmission tunnel.
Rear shocks ready for springs and needle thrust adjusters.
Machining up the concentric spacers to locate the shock coil-over springs and keep then centered on the Needle Roller thrust bearing.
Putting the needle bearing on the shock adjusting nut.
All the pieces that to make ride height adjustment a little easier.
If you could zoom in you would see all the thrust bearing parts with a little more clarity.
Bell housing is well within the concentric requirements of 0.005" I've got as close as 0.0015"
Getting closer.
Started off 0.027" off center.
Mocking up the bell housing & Hydraulic throwout bearing.
Did not like the spacer washers that were supplied with the hydraulic throw-out bearing (HTOB). The bore on these washers were too sloopy too....
