289 slabside
Seeing that photo of the body being worked on in Havana got me thinking again about maybe building a 289 slabside. Who makes a kit and/or body? I know of ERA and Shelby, but who else? Johnex used to, but not sure if they're around anymore. 289FIA expands the choices somewhat (ERA again, Unique, Shelby), but not really what I'm thinking of.
Will probably go the 427 route, but toying with the slabside idea presently.

I make the Slabside body to fit the F5 frame, also have the FiA to fit the F5 frame, along with the Compcar, and a replica of 39PH

Keep in mind the cost opf a 289, especially if you duplicate an original 289.
KMS - Very nice an ally
Panel Craft - In ally
SAI - Glass and you will need to buy a few as they are not in production
JCF - John's Custom Fab glass in WA
ERA - Ct glass
Sagebrush Roadsters - AZ glass
Bruce - Glass FFR usage
Turn Ten Racing aka D&D - Glass, think it is Bruce body?
Allen Buresh - ally cburesh@zoomalums.com
Acton Custom - Mickmate
Oops forgot the Aurora, of course it will have to be used.....
Not all are transverse leaf, as there are many frame designs. KMS, Panel Craft, Acton Custom, SAI and Sagebrush will be the most accurate.
to name a few......

Something very English & Purist about the Slabside. Tough to beat the sound of a Roaring 427 but a SB in a Slab is a head turner also. Got my Vote!

Slabside Builder
JCF in Oregon has been making slabsides longer than anyone-like 30 years maybe. With a little work they turn out beautiful. Mine has been on the road 8 years and has been bulletproof. Owners of originals have mistaken it for one. Try John (John's Custom Fab) at 541 888 9313. He will sell you a body, frame, any part, or a turnkey car. JCF built the bodies and frames for Johnex before Canada made it hard to import them

Don't get too excited as the SAI slabs you referenced are not SAI, they are KMS and/or possibly Hawk? as SAI does not have any slabs available. Already went that route. Interesting that Dynamic offers CSX branding for a small fee of $23k, nice!
The black car on the big island is Kia's car, not for sale last I knew. Might be pictured on SAI site however he loves that car!
D&D told me Mr Bruce?

I've seen the Hawk slabside. It's a beautiful car also. They now offer an upgraded independent suspension instead of the old MG suspension.
