Default Magazines

With the internet, I am sure magazines have taken a back seat. But I still prefer to peruse a magazine when I can.

Quite a while back, there was a Cobra magazine. I still have every issue somewhere. I think it was started do to complaaints about Kit Car magazines being so predominatly Cobra oriented. The magazine didn't last though. Too bad.

I havn't seen an issue of either of the two Kit Car magazines in any of my local stores for a long time. Occasionally, I've seen a British version, which is nice for a change.

I think I lost the copy that had a sequence of photos of a Cobra doing a barrel roll and landing on its roof at a Run'N'Gun event. Never saw anything close to that on YouTube. Can't be a common thing to have happen.

All in all, it can be fun having a magazine arrive in the mail every month. Any suggestions for good (bathroom) reading on these cars?

Kit Car magazine went under, well their publisher decided to no longer produce it. Now there is Kit Car Builder which covers a wide variety of kit cars. They can be found online at http://www.kitcarbuilder.blogspot.com/, I subscribe to the print version and really like it especially for the reference material available. I believe the photog of Kit Car Magazine and a local photographer are creating an online magazine that will be out soon, can't remember the name of it though.

Thanks Purple Venom. That explains where Kit Car went. I htink there were two of them. Kit Car Illustrated and Peterson' Kit car, but it's been a long time.

Rustybob...can you give me a little more info please?

EDIT: I see Kit Car Builder has articles by Jim Youngs. Is that the same mag you mentioned?

I subscribed to Cobra magizine for a few years. It's U.K. based.

http://kit-cars.com/Cobrahtml/cobrasite.html

It was interesting for a while but then seemed to go shy of content. The ad to content ratio got a bit high.

Try "Classic Motorsports"

www.classicmotorsports.net

Focus is on vintage race cars, but they don't snub Cobra replicas. Have great articles on other significant cars as well, such as Chapparals and Listers. Good magazine. I've subscribed for years.

x2 on Classic Motorsports. I also started a subscription last year to Vintage Motorsport which I found to be a great addition to "The Library"
