If one were to read the registry carefully, they would note that Mike Shoen said he bought the car in '68 with some 17,000 miles already on the odometer. When it appeared years later with just 14,000 showing, there were some questions to follow. Hey, you don't suppose this is what was meant by a Smiths reversing speedometer, do you?

Wow, I'd take the pastel blue '73 Carrera RS, just in case he needed to jettison one of cheaper cars for gratis. Nice collection.

After watching the show, I'm not sure the owner could actually fit into any of his cars. Is that why he's selling them?

The seller obviously likes blue/white Cobras.

I was actually serious about the question, though no one here could answer it. Why not sell just one or two, why all of them? The first thing that came into my head was that the seller may not be able to fit in them anymore. He had the show's host take it for a spin and stick it in the trailer all with the owner just looking on. The trailer I can understand, but why not cruise it with good ole Wayne on the freeway? If it were $1.165MM car, I would have, no matter the reputation of the show and its host.

He probably needs the money. Why else would you sell in a down market? Just because he is wealthy does not mean he might not need to liquidate. My experience lately has been people selling high dollar toys because they have taken big financial hits.

Sorry Ron. It must have taken a long time to assemble such a great collection cars and I was interested in the motive for selling all of them.

Does anyone know when the others will be coming to auction or have they?

huh? Wayne is about 5'4" and fit. (that 's him on the right) :LOL: BTW... anyone who owns cars like this and takes time out to shoot the sh!t with someone who owns a PPOS, is alright in my book. He's good people and ruining the "hobby" for us all? WTF hobby are you in? Collecting cars or building replicas? Either way, it's zero impact. Supply and demand as well as a sharp pencil=success.

His comment was not about Wayne. It was about the robust man that Wayne was working with who owned the cobra.

I thought that the "Owner", Wayner Carini, was the same as the guy that's "selling them" which is also , Wayne Carini. Is it me, or did I read this wrong?

The owner of the car was not the show's host. I have no idea what their names are or if they changed them to protect the innocent.

Many of the cars sold through F40 Motorsports are on consignment. Carini does just what he says...buys and sell collectable cars. Who of us wouldn't give his left nut to do what he does for a living?

The middle gauge, which is FP, was bouncing all over the place, and the far left gauge, which is the ammeter, was in a hefty discharge even when revving. That was right before Wayne says "the Cobra's running great.":LOL:
