That always cracks me up when someone automatically assumes the worst, and has to make sure they wag a finger of disapproval. I'm thinking the guy probably doesn't care what anyone thinks, and frankly, that's not the point. The point here is he has done an amazing thing that few people could ever do. I guess it's like a lot of things these days; If you understand, no explaination is necessary. If you don't understand, no explaination is possible.

Why don't we just try to stay positive, and keep the negative comments to ourselves?

Sorry for the rant...

Eric

That's not what I think I said, but who cares at this point. **)

Also, your saying not to post any negative comments, when your comment is also negative. Further, if there were no negative posts on this or any Forum, then you probably wouldn't have many Forums.

In any case, life is terminal 100% of the time. If I could chose when and where to go out I think that would be preferable to spending 5 years in bed drooling on my stained sheets. I look at life as being an adventure, not a scary place where I'm afraid to scuff my knee. Most regrets are from what you didn't do, not from what you did.

Each to their own. I won't tell you what to do, and I'd expect the same from everyone else...

I agree, life must be a great adventure otherwise it does not worth living.
I break rules every time I can because rules are not usually logical but based on what fear people. Or made to have the less gifted ones to survive.

I thought two negatives made a positive! Oh, well. That's why you should ignor me and my stupid comments. I should know better, but it seems I don't.

Sorry.

No yet, Trying to talk him out of retirement

750HP Daves still is at 10.20. He has the car. Outside of needing a new set of slicks for the rearend, We are still waiting. Waiting for the days on the next R&G. I still think to date that no FE motor cobra without and power adders has gone 9.0's yet. I have to change 1st & 2nd gear in my trans before taking a shot a this. Will use the new motor, 498. will have the power, trick will be getting the first 60' time to run that fast before getting thrown off the track for not having a full cage. Rick L.

750hp 10-25-2009 05:55 AM

Good luck!

BOURRET 10-28-2009 02:18 PM

I would enjoy so much to be thrown away from the track for breaking the time-limit!!!This would be the happiest day of my life. Still 1.9s to improve for me.......
Requesting full cages for fast car which are street legal is not logical since any time on empty roads (no traffic, no pedestrian, no house),
I can accelerate at full power if there is no policeman in sight.

Buzz 10-28-2009 05:57 PM

You're a bad girl Queenie:).

PLDRIVE 10-28-2009 08:13 PM

Rugby? No, thanks, I like my teeth very much. Thank you.

Edit: Sorry Dean for taking the thread "off track."

colin mullaney 11-01-2009 05:53 PM

Going that fast is great. That mph is good for mid to low nines with good traction.

PurpleVenom 11-01-2009 08:49 PM

Talked to Dave yesterday and told him there are still 2 cars faster than he, man he was po'd :D Thinks he can get 9.5's, look out

colin mullaney 11-02-2009 07:28 AM

I am aware of at least two more fast Cobras deep into the 8's. One owned by Rocky Keyes and the other I can't remember. I think it was a Shell Valley car from the Northern U.S.

PurpleVenom 11-02-2009 09:40 AM

My question is, do these 7 and 8 second Cobra's get driven on the street? Dave drive's his regularly from Defiance to St. Charles. Not downplaying the faster cars, but there's always someone faster depending on the setup.

ShelbyMicke 11-02-2009 03:37 PM

Does anyone know if the run is on Youtube

dlampe 11-02-2009 03:42 PM

Purple Venom makes a good point. David ran the drags in Tulsa last summer then drove the cobra over 400 miles home!

twin turbo 11-02-2009 08:28 PM

That is very fast, congrats. I'm amazed they allowed a 2nd run. A full cage and NHRA license is normally req'd to run under 10 seconds or over 135 mph. I wish a track would let me have a couple runs. Cheers.

lovehamr 11-02-2009 08:34 PM

Dang Bill, I think we allready covered that.

Steve
