I picked my SPF up for 35K -- and my CSX for 41.9K

-- so it is about being in the right place at the right time with the ability to say ; "done".

Those were roller prices. Though Steve gets such great prices, those amounts could be his cost basis for the finished cars. :)

I thought you told me that SPFs were almost as bad as FFRs?

Either you're dreaming about the wrong acronym or might have a case of dyslexia. Either way, you definitely need to see a doctor. You have ERA-itis.

Well, ok ... I'm glad we straightened that out.;)

No, Patrick. It is generally thought that the ERA is the best fiberglass replica on the market. So, I would disagree with you.

Blasphemy! I've owned two SPF's and equally two CSX's. Both are quality cars but the main difference between SPF's,CSX's and ERA's is that SPF's are finished rollers and the others aren't.

If you're mechanically inclined and want the pride in building/creating your cobra, buy ONLY what you "think" you can afford, then plan on doubling that amount! Cobras are ALWAYS works in progress!

Whatever your decision, the end product is only as good as the builder.

That dang RodKnock just keeps getting me in to trouble. :p He did point out though that the radiator on the SPF cars looks really funny.

Dan Semko 11-09-2009 06:53 PM

The only way he'd appreciate the radiator is from either under or over it. They do the job exceptionally well especially with the dual fans.

If he enjoyed the radiator, he'll REALLY enjoy the "perky butt" on the FFR's.

I don't know... he was going on and on about how they're not slanted and that they just look like crap. You'd think they'd fix that with people complaining about them like they do.

PANAVIA 11-09-2009 06:57 PM

I am sure we could debate this for years. - Worked on all of them, I personally like the SPF uber-alles.

Dan Semko 11-09-2009 07:04 PM

If he really wants something to complain about have him search "Lubinsky".

I try not to work him up... I think he's borderline postal as is.;)

In that case he really needs to exchange some dialog with REAL 1!

His bark is much worse than his bite. I made his acquaintance at the DVSF several years ago and had a pleasant encounter. Of course I wouldn't tell him that because it would ruin my constant teasing...he really does have a nice CSX but it's not real!

Francis 11-09-2009 08:24 PM

let's not bust the color, but when I was looking for mine, I had several people (owners) tell me the yellow is the least desired color. Superformance should be pushing SN 3000+ by now. Mine is nearly 2 yrs old and my SN is in the mid 2700. I had no issues (bugs) with mine at all. I'd give Keith Craft a call, and grab the blue and white they have. They do it right, and their engine is outstanding.

Dan Semko 11-09-2009 08:31 PM

yellow is surpassed by orange and that nasty bile green that D&M advertised last year.

I had "bugs" in SPF 760 and 1568 but they were always quickly and properly resolved by the folks at Dynamic and Performance Engineering in Ross, Ohio. They're great cars, well built with quality fit and finish. I don't know about the new owners in Massury, Ohio who have some serious shoes to fill.
