Added a link to your Facebook profile

Ok, if you would like to allow folks to touch bases with you via facbook, you can now add your profile ID in your user control panelhttp://clubcobra.com/forums/profile.php?do=editprofile

Then once you've added your profile ID# a link will show up on your posts (see mine below the camera icon next to my profile picture). You get the ID from the end of your URL to your actual profile on facebook. As an example, here's mine: http://www.facebook.com/#/profile.ph...&id=1077802242 << Just enter the 10 digit ID.

Have fun.

I only count 9 digits in your number. Haven't tried looking up mine yet, but maybe that is why it isn't working.

No, it didn't work so I am missing something.

http://www.facebook.com/home.php?#/p...e&id=554270479 Ok I only have 9 numbers also and my URL looks different from the others.

(see mine below the camera icon next to my profile picture). Brent I see no link below your f icon.

Ron

This is a great idea! I just added mine.

PJ4myboo 11-18-2009 07:36 AM

Maybe it's just me, but when I click the facebook icon on your two profiles it goes to my facebook profile. Did I do something wrong?

This may sound stupid, but where exactly do I enter my id on the user control panel?

Andrei

No. The software code to do this here is not implemented correctly... the function DOES NOT work.

It just sends you to Facebook and does not pick up the User Profile ID

I have notified Brent. I am sure he will check back on this thread when it gets fixed

Is there a way to make this work if my name appears in my FB link instead of a number?

STEPHEN BROHOLM 11-19-2009 03:15 AM

I'm with Vanoochka.

I also only have my name appearing on my user id.

Steve.

Steve,

It will work with your named ID # as this is just a variant of the Numerical one....Mine worked with my name #.!!

Paul

I'm guessing that your Facebook named ID is less than 12 characters in length.

OZCOBRA 11-19-2009 06:09 AM

YES..........
Shortened to 10 characters as in the numbered version!! :)

PJ4myboo 11-19-2009 10:52 AM

This is a great feature. Thanks for adding it!

Pete

Chuck,

1. Open facebook, login.
2. Hover your mouse over your name in the dark blue border (top, just right of center). You also can click on it to get the "user's" version of your page.
3. See the link at the bottom of the page? See the id number?
4. Use that number in your Club Cobra Profile.

Mine looks like this: profile.php?ref=name&id=100000197148225

Works like a charm! Thanks Brent!

Good luck,
Randy...

STEPHEN BROHOLM 11-19-2009 12:21 PM

Hi gents, I'm still struggling to get it to work.

I definitely can't see a 10 digit number, just my name, which is too long to fit into the required space.

Steve.
