Full-Race Cobra

This just showed up on Cobra Country: Full Race Cobra.

Nice in many ways, but for some reason the Moon-disc headlights cracked me up.

Looks to be a slightly modified Real Cobra

Gunner 12-02-2009 06:41 PM

If I read the listing right, most of the Real(tm) body has been replaced with carbon fiber panels.

Jeez, three sets of wheels and eight sets of tires... that and the engine almost make it worth the asking price. :D

Oh......my......god....

Looks pretty cool. They don't say anything about the race results though. :)

"The chassis started out as a Hi-Tech Motorsports which is a faithful copy of that of the original 427 Cobra..."

ERA Chas 12-02-2009 07:13 PM

Bring on Morris-he'll eat this by lap 2.

Am I the only one that wonders why anyone would take such a beautiful car and slap a very kit car looking aero kit on it?

*13* 12-02-2009 08:16 PM

You're not the only one. ;)

kobrabytes 12-02-2009 09:04 PM

Does he give test rides? **)

To keep the beautiful car from becoming (briefly) a beautiful aircraft and (subsequently) an un-beautiful ball of scrap?

Racing is about form and function. First throw out the form, then continue.:JEKYLHYDE

I've seen it race. Awesomely fast and terrific sounds! Talked to the owner quite a bit. Super nice guy too.
Here's a couple photo's I shot that day.

I guess I just wouldn't start with a cobra and do that to it (although it probably wouldn't take that much to pull the kit off and restore it if you wanted to). I'd start with a less beautiful car instead. YMMV.

 Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The under the hood pic is actually spot on killer...love it. As for the rest of the car, I hope the new owner drives the wheels off it and gets his kicks.

You see the same thing with the Pro Mod early 'Vettes and Camaros. They put all that aluminum wing crap on their to keep it glued to the track, but it barely resembles the cleaner looking originals. To each his own. I guess to go really fast sometimes you gotta lean toward uglier. :D

I actually think is kind of cool looking. Sort of like a bulldog is cute!
The neatest part of the car was the little yellow scoop on the rear cowl for the diff cooler!
I know, I'm wierd!

what I would give to tool around the neighborhood in that beast for a day or two.

Sharroll Celby 12-03-2009 05:31 PM

If he molded the flairs and air dams a little better into the original lines of the Cobra, without the "right-angle-ish" flares, it would look a lot better. !!! lol !!!

Where's Buzz when we need him? ;)
