All that being said, you would be amazed how quickly one opinion can change when faced with a Louisville Slugger Bat. It like I told my neighbor that flies up and down my street with kids out, you hit one of them, you wont have to worry about the police showing up, you'll never see them again. This cowardness country needs to start doing a litte more street justice, take Texas as the lead. Another dead car robber shot dead last night in Houston, only 19, look at how many other crimes the homeowner prevented from happening. If you play, have fun, be ready and accept the bill if you screw up!!!

It's a good question. The overriding general rule in American courts is that "prior bad acts" are inadmissable in both civil and criminal trials unless they fall in to a few exceptions. The reasoning behind that general rule is that the prejudicial impact of prior bad acts will outweigh the probative value of the evidence itself. It's also basically a "relevance" issue as well, just because you've been bad in the past doesn't mean you were bad today. Now, let's just suppose Native1 got in to an accident with this Cobra and the issue before the jury was whether he was driving negligently, or even recklessly, with his Cobra. If that video got in he's already got two and a half strikes against him with most juries (criminal or civil). Depending on the state, most judges would not let that video be played during the trial because it would be so prejudicial (and not very probative at all). But of course the plaintiff's attorney really wants the jury to see it because it paints Native1 as a reckless nut. One way you might be able to get it in is to allege that the Cobra has limited visibility and try and get the video in front of the jury with a "limiting instruction." The judge would tell the jury "You should not allow the video of Native1 doing 100MPH on that street influence your decision as to whether he was negligent, rather you should only let it influence your decision as to the visibility out of the car." Of course, the jury only half-listens to that and plaintiff's attorney will refer to the video as "defendant's 100mph flight down main street last year," or something like that, until the Judge tells him to quit doing that. Make sense?:3DSMILE:

Nice vid .....from a great little camera by the looks of it.

Nice pull on the gears, plenty of hammer and she appeared to enjoy the drive ;)

Just 1 thing ..... shoulder belts. In a hard stop you've got the wheel to brace against and you know it's happening, your wife may not react quick enough to get her hands on the dash before her face hits it (esp if she's looking to the side when you hit the binders).

Best piece of advice in the entire thread.;)

I agree. I was going to say something, but didn't want to appear like I was piling on.

greg schroeder 01-18-2010 05:15 PM

Looks fun. I watched the rolling puch to 100 about five times. The car is quick. Drag radials make that engine all the more fun.

In my opinion texting on a cell phone is more dangerous.

Yup. The regular Go pro is around 160-170 and the Go pro HD is about 265-275. HD is much better. I have some other really cool videos. Some of you might really enjoy them.... I think some others may not find them as cool as I do. I will save those for another time. You will notice, that no other cars were close to me and there are no places for a car to pull out on that stretch. This does NOT make it OK. However, it is something to keep in mind. Plus, my wife loves it when I do that. She insisted that we test the camera.

All the suggestions that have been made are great! I will implement many of them. I especially like the one of making the passenger wear the shoulder belts. She might not like it, but she knows it is really the right thing to do. These cars were not built with safety in mind. I think we will also wear our fire suits and helmets while driving around town.**)

The Nitto drag radials were a HUGE improvement over the Goodyear F1's. However, they wear VERY quickly. If you drive on the highway, the tread will literally disappear in one trip. But, I couldn't have gotten to a 100 nearly as quick without them. And thanks Greg for bringing up the rolling start... I knew you would notice. Never had mine on the track, but I would be VERY happy if my car could pull off 10.7 @ 130 in the quarter. That is smokin fast. You are still the king. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmDd14eITU0 I have watched this one many times...

Great vid, AND the sound was clear.

If you are going to drop the hammer, get full harnesses (shoulder).

Your car is wickedly quick :D I don't know how you keep it straight.
What tires do you have?

Yeah, I'd retiterate to be careful what you post.

I got a couple really stupid comments after posting This video on youtube
Considering it was late at night, deserted roads, and we didn't really do anything except make some noise with the tires.

Next driving videos, for me, are at the track.

Thanks. Tires are Nitto drag radials. 315 35r x 17. About 200$ a piece.

native1 ...

Have a question about your car ... sent you a PM.

Thanks.

I have MT Street Drag radials and have about 4000 miles on them with no signs of wear. i do not torture them but them work with the 15" rim. Hooks like crazy when you warm them up.

Is that your Hustler in the other video you posted? I had a Top Gun that I sold a few years ago. Fast boats and fast cars, nothing better...

No. Not my Hustler. But I am a performance boat nut!!! I have a 38 Fountain, a 20 Lake and Bay flats boat, and a 100+ mph tunnel hull. Fast boats and cars are my life. http://tinypic.com/player.php?v=qzg3k6&s=6

28 Skater! Nice!! I bet the 300XS's made for a fast and fuel efficient ride. That is the perfect power for that boat. 110mph???? 32 or 34 cleavers??

Doug, watch CNN occasionally. :p

Patrick, stop watching Law & Order. :)

Native, when you post anything, you'll always get opinions from every side of the story. It is what it is.

Bad joke with no point of reference. :) It's a quote form infamous "balloon boy", when the father repeated a question to the kid on camera, the kid answered "Who the hell is Wolf Blitzer."

If you watch CNN a lot (like I do) the other newscasters just loved playing that clip for a while.

That car has a 10.xx in it easy. Just knock off a 1.6 60ft time with some nice quick shifts when the DA is below 1000 ft and you're there.

If you like try the Mickey Thompson ET street drag radials next time. They last quite a while, hook nice and don't throw stones if they're not heated up. They do heat up if you drive at higher speed over 70 or 80 for a while.
