Carbon car may be for sale
I am thinking about selling the carbon car this spring. I've had four cobras and perhaps I'm getting burned out since I don't use it as much as I should.
It's an incredible car and have been told it's one of the most accurate "recreations" by a local Shelby appraiser. A ton of money has been spent on the car and it's well sorted with about 3000 miles on it. Look in my gallery for pictures. It's the red car with no stripes. It's not for sale yet so this post is premature certainly. Just looking for inputs, I guess. John |
John, post some details, but here's a link to a short video of the car from some time ago:
Hey, I'm always on the prowl. :) |
John
Wished it were mine! ;) One mean machine! http://www.clubcobra.com/photopost/d...rst_drive1.JPG |
Best looking body in the business.

Over here in Dallas we have one and I have to agree it is extremely accruate! I actually was thinking about buying the manufacturer's personal car (without his engine) but wasn't the color I wanted and no stripes which I also want. Depending on your price I think you'll have a lot of interest if you decide to sell it. Beautiful Cobra! Love the sound in the video also.......

Say it isn't so John!
It is one spectacular car. Really have to see it in real life to appreciate it. If John does sell it, someone is going to an awesome car. Larry |
Thanks, Larry. It's been fun over the years. Now that I'm one of Sherriff Joe's Posse deputies I need to behave.
I'll advertise here and Cobra Country probably. Cobra is by Exact in Austin TX. It is the most accurate replica made today. No fiberglass. Body is carbon fiber (.060) and mounted on a birdcage as per originals. Frame is identical to original but with increased wall thickness. Only the best parts and materials are used. Wilwood brakes, six pin drive hubs with knockoff wheels, new Salisbury rear, correct oil cooler with proper fittings, Side oiler with side winder intake. Car was received as a roller and no interior. The paint is single stage Rangoon red. The mechanical was professionally completed by Vintage Mobil Restoration in Phoenix, AZ. The interior was finished by Unique Auto Upholstery in Scottsdale, AZ. They have re-upholstered and carpeted several originals to spec. |
John,
Yours is a fantastic car. I followed it's build cycle from beginning to end. Exact Systems maintains the very highest level of detail with all of their products. Your final execution shows the results of your efforts at every stage during construction. Best of luck on your sale! Sam |
Is there a site for the company i can look at online

Nice looking cobra. i have been on the prowl for a un built contemporary classic cobra for a long time and i just found one finally. But the owner has no paper work so the car cant be brought into canada so it looks like ill have to pass on it and i think ill just give up. i would like to look into your car when u find out what u want for it or maybe get a new one how do i get a hold of the manafacturer.

For info on the Exact do a search for carbon cobra or new kid on the block. There was a long discussion and some pictures of the cars.

I've always admired your car, every time I saw a shot posted, and especially the video of the car running (would have liked to hear a few throttle blips though ;)). You should have no trouble selling in starting next month. Here and Cobracountry is what I suggest, places like carsonline only get you tire kickers and scammers........... Bill S. |
Bill, I always appreciate your input. Thanks.

John |
Drivetrain consists of sideoiler with solid lifters, bored .030 over, Milodon cheater gear cam drive, 10:1 c/r, high lift and duration cam, 3550 trans. Ram billet aluminum flywheel, Centerforce clutch, New Salisbury rear end, Spicer joints.

Double Ugly,
So did you decided to keep your Cobra or did you happen to sell it just off of this post as I never saw it come up for sale on Cobra Country or Club Cobra... |
