lovehamr 08-07-2010 09:56 AM

I thought everyone carried in Texas. That is why the crime rate is so low.

madmaxx 08-07-2010 01:05 PM

No the only people who carry in Texas are the ones that like to buy stuff once, LOL!!!!

The real problem is Texas is the incredible amount of multi-fatility DWI incidents. No problem when a drunk kills himself but it seams lately alot of families have been taken out. Just this last week in Houston one got 60 years and the other got 30 years, not a bad deal about 10 years per life. Needless to say if one of the fukers did harm to my family the minute it walked out of prison would be its last.

Word. TX says you can carry. Glock 19 with 124 gr+P JHP's. Problem solved. Thread title would be "Some dude tried to jack me today!!! He's now taking a dirt nap!"

I've heard a lot of stories of people jacking cars during test drives.

Ah well, maybe your insurance payoff will be higher than the sale price?

madmaxx 08-07-2010 06:11 PM

Sorry did not mean to insult drunks, I am one, I meant to insult drunk drivers, I aint one.

BBfangs 08-07-2010 06:39 PM

I hate to hear that. I hope no one was hurt during your incident. I hope they nail the a-hole soon!

So "Your Acura" was stolen during a "test drive" by force. Who was test driving your Acura when this happened?

mdross1 08-08-2010 04:03 AM

Reading this always reminds how vunerable my wife is,and her fear of guns. She would be totally defenseless and crying if confronted.Hopefully no boneheads will get the wrong ideas about my rides. The last sound they ever hear will be the report of my hand cannon!

Really? Crime rate per capita?

madmaxx 08-08-2010 06:37 AM

Most probably do not realize this but some "humans" are not canidates for rehibilitation. I have met a very young one, in his mind it was perfectly right to do very very wrong things. Remorse is only felt when pain was not caused to someone else, never as a result of causing pain. Its brain does not function correctly in a civilized society and never will. You may think they are changing but in reality they are just disguising their true identity to cause even greater harm when the opportunity presents itself, in other words a bigger kill.

If you can digest the aforementioned, you will have no problem pulling the trigger.

Our legal system is only effective on "normal" people not the extremities.

boxhead 08-08-2010 07:44 AM

In all honesty, is it really worth starting a gun fight over a car?

Isnt it best that no one is hurt, let the police and insurance sort it out?

No legal guns on OZ, and I dont hear as many crime reports here as much as I hear from USA.

I realise this is not the way American's think, but pulling a gun on a guy who also has a gun, do you want to take the 50/50 chance that you will get him before he gets you?

Once again, for a car?

madmaxx 08-08-2010 08:17 AM

To answer your question "In all honesty, is it really worth starting a gun fight over a car?
" Dont think for a minute they will not harm you or your wife or your girlfriend or you kids. If you steal my car from a parking lot and i see you driving away, i probably would not shoot, you get in my car with me and try to steal it I will be cleaning your brains off the headliner for the next 6 months.

Boxhead makes a valid observation:

This is representative of how TEXAS think's, not America. Which is one reason I don't live there (Texas)... :)

boxhead 08-08-2010 08:34 AM

I can see it now Max, you go for your gun, where ever it is, the bad guy see's you moving for something, he pulls out his gun and Bang - your dead, and now he does not want any witness's, so Bang, Bang, your wife and child are dead.

Or another scene, the bad guy jumps in your car, you let him have the car, get out with your family and watch as he drives away, you pull out your phone, call 911 and the guy is caught 5 miles down the road. Or he gets away, insurance gives you money and you with your family enjoy the new car.

Jerry Clayton 08-08-2010 09:20 AM

I'd like a little better explanation of jacked on a test drive by force????? does this mean that you were showing your car to someone and on a test drive they pulled a weapon or strong armed you out of the car and drove off??? how did the cops(911) respond? What about some follow up???

Don 08-08-2010 10:06 AM

A precaution, which admittedly will not resolve every possibility, but better than nothing , is to immediately lock the doors upon entry. Just might be enough of a deterrent for the intruder to move on.

My Jeep GC locks the doors at 5 mph, but by then it's too late. Preference would be for an option to initiate the auto lock feature as soon as the key is inserted.

car4jim 08-08-2010 10:28 AM

FST FOX. Sorry for your loss. I hope they catch the b...tard, and you get your ride back soon! Gun discussion aside, wouldn't have been great to have a remote drivers ejector seat!! Ha! Any lessons learned to help us guys avoid this event to begine with?
