you know, they design some cool stuff, but the first thing i look at is weight.
and it looks like ford developed another drivetrain no one understands and is able to modify inexpensively. like the body style though.
how's your stuff coming?

Not a bad price for a crate engine with this sort of HP/torque figures (but, keep in mind, it's short the front dress and needs an ECU):

Compared to the competition.....the new Camaro and Challenger.... the Mustang line up, as far as weight, stacks up pretty well, which is why it beats them, V6 or V8, in about every performance category albeit with less "advertised" HP.
I've got everything about sorted out. EFI humming along, suspension etc. tuned up, bouncy tach needle fixed by the factory. I even have a hood prop now instead of a broomstick. All that is left is carpet for now, and that is going in soon. Of course the trunk lid is still just a cover for the gas tank and rear end but finishing it can wait until this winter.

camaro, mustang, challenger, they all have a nice body style, but the weight thing just gets me. if they could take 1000 lbs. off they'd have something.

Mine, too, but for a different reason, I suspect.....I absolutely believe that the canted-valve head design used on the Boss 302, Cleveland 335 series Ford engines, and the big block 385 series Ford engines is a much better method of getting the A/F charge into the engine. The Boss 429 was a different animal, sorta a "hemi", sorta not, but the Boss 302 and Boss 351 engines were IMHO the pinnacle of Ford's small block production.......
......until now. This "Coyote" engine's specs look pretty good, but, again IMHO, I think they should call this Mustang something other than a Boss 302 b/c there are still some of us who think the original Boss 302 Mustang might well have been the best vintange Mustang of all. Gotta use a "B" word? OK, call it a "Badass 302", there are lots of other names you could use, just leave our venerated "Boss 302" alone, please .
Cheers from Dugly
