It's a converted MG, for sure, most likely a 1956 MGA, as the title states it is registered as a 1956. Which would make a legal 1956 car, for the most part, your state may have a different view on that.

Says it's a 1965 Cobra 427 Shelby :MECOOL:

thudmaster 09-04-2010 06:33 PM

Having owned one before I say it is a fine example of an MGA.........:LOL:

Excaliber 09-04-2010 07:01 PM

Indeed, I had a '59 MGA and it wasn't near as pretty as this one. :)

MOTORHEAD 09-04-2010 07:01 PM

I can't recall ever reading so much BS in one place !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh Yea, the prototype Cobra was built on an MG chassis, a "real frame, not that chincy tube thingy"!! An MGA with a Chevy in it is not a bad thing in and of itself ( I built a MGTD with a ford 260 in it, and it was a blast !) So why try to pass it off as something it's NOT ? Perfect example of the stereotypical car salesman !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

133bus 09-04-2010 07:17 PM

Holly crap!!!that guy likes to talk...and is also FULL of it

Ralphy 09-04-2010 07:25 PM

I just asked if he could post some chassis pictures. But I got to thinking, he should be reported to EBay as to promoting his MG as a Cobra Kit. The only thing Cobra are the badges.

Durt 09-04-2010 08:06 PM

"These cars are ULTRA RARE."
So is the Ebola Virus.

I've never seen anyone try so hard to sell something so unfortunate.

Ralphy 09-04-2010 08:38 PM

If you read enough, HE put the paint, seats chrome and Cobra Badges on it. He also states he bought it sight unseen, then somewhere else states he drove it extensively before he bought it! His mechanic warned him about the massive power, but wait he has owned 4 other Cobras. I think the mech was warning him about the sh...y manual MG brakes trying to stop that turbo 400.

This guy must be a gas hitting the bars!

rustyBob 09-04-2010 09:03 PM

Theres enough BS in his statement to fill the Grand Canyon.....a couple of times...

FIA-ERA 09-04-2010 09:18 PM

WTH!! is that! I think I'm going to be sick!:eek:

It's not about money or who can afford what. It's about being honest about what you're selling.

Shelby's lawyers are probably all over that by now. It is an MGA and if it is a 1956 it would probably say MGA on the title, so his promotion of it as a Cobra is pretty far afield. Ernie was wondering if it was a "replica or a relic a", I think relic is most likely the closer of the 2, unless it's an MGA replica:LOL:. I think the MGA guys would find fault on that end too.
I can't understand why used car salesman get such a bad rap, he is selling a COBRA relica at a very low price...sure it has a sbc instead of a Ford powerplant, but it is ALL metal.
Maybe it's an early Stallion replica, it has that type of roll bar,LOL.
