Here's another, formerly owned by Wendel Clarke. Don't know the make...

Hard to tell which make it is from those photos; too dark. It looks like a Classic II or similar, but I can't really tell in the photos. I know one of the managers at Collector Car Productions and could ask him if you're interested. But it's clearly not a Superformance, which I know is your preferred choice.

From memory Clarks cobra was a Jonex
Cheers Greg

Not a Johnex, look at the front top door edge. Strange shape, should be able to identify from that.

I have a question...... I found an ad for a 2006 SPF on legendary motorcar's website this morning (www.legendarymotorcar.com) The unusual thing is the fact that is a 2006. I was wondering if this car is illegally in Ontario? Due to the fact that the Ministry shut down Macro and made it illegal to import them into Ontario. Or do you think this one might have been one of the last SPF's allowed into Ontario?

I appreciate your comments and opinions. My quest continues!!

Thanks :D
Stu.

Stu, I happened to be in the Toronto area today and had some free time, so I popped into LMC to check out this car in person.

It turns out that it is in fact SP02348 (the one I thought it was) and it was bought by someone in the Ottawa area. I left my contact info with LMC (Bill) and asked him to pass it along to the new owner, in case we wants to hook up and cruise, and in case he wants to plug into the SPF support networks that are out there.

I am the lucky new owner of this Superformance cobra. Can't wait to see it in person. Being shipped up to Ottawa next week. WooHoo!
I have been trying to find a good Superformance for 4 years. Very tough up here in Canada to get your hands on a good one. A Roush 402R is icing on the cake.
Extra 18" wheels and tires was nice too.

SunDude 10-16-2010 05:19 AM

Sorry Stu, this trip was just kinda in-and-out. But I expect to be travelling to Toronto often and will let you know when I'm there next. Brian

There should be no problems whatsoever to insure this Cobra in Ontario. It qualifies for the same great policy I have on mine.

Why was the car priced so low (for Canada)? Who knows. Could explain why it sold speedy quick. The car looks to be in fab condition. Looks like the buyer got a sweet deal.

ottawa1967 10-17-2010 10:22 AM

Hello Brian, I look forward to meeting you in the near future. What end of the city are you in? I expect to pick my cobra up this week sometime and am going to have to start looking for insurance come Monday. Any company you can recommend. - Sean

SunDude 10-17-2010 12:37 PM

Sean, I had sent you an email through Club Cobra the other day which includes my personal email address too. Did you get it?

Drop me an email or a PM through this forum. I can give you several tips re: insurance in Ontario (Cobras are virtually uninsurable except through one company...), and where to get technical support to keep your car running great. And I do lots of weekend cruising, so if that interests you we can hook up. There are only two other SPF owners in the region, but plenty of FFR guys and we sometimes get together.

I live in the Hunt Club area.

cdnus 10-17-2010 02:37 PM

Sean,
Enjoy your new car---Drive carefully, a snake can bite you in more ways than you can count.

Re:
Insurance, the only one other than facility ( unless the car is more than 15yrs old ) is Zehr Ins.1-800-667-1802 ask for Jeremy, nice guy, will look after you.
Or E-mail him @ jmatheson@zehrinsurance.com

Craig

Note:

You will need a appraisal

Sean, you are very good hands with Brian!! Enjoy your cruises together............

Stu.

SunDude 10-21-2010 05:08 AM

Hey Sean, have you taken delivery of the car yet? How did it go with insurance (your current provider vs Zehr)? Are you gonna join our cruise Sunday, weather permitting?

cobrarob 10-21-2010 11:00 AM

Brian

Are you still getting some seat time this time of year

Here in BC the weather has been good all week but the weekend is supposed to be ugly to say the least

Rob

SunDude 10-21-2010 02:15 PM

The weekend forecast is looking awful right now, but it's quite variable so you never know. But yeah, I've been getting as much seat time as I can. Hopefully I've got a couple more weeks of driving before I have to put 'er away for the winter. Fingers crossed.

ottawa1967 10-21-2010 04:24 PM

I get it sometime Saturday Brian - Jeremy at Zehr was fantastic, great prices and great service. Thanks for the info, I'm sure it saved me a bunch of work. State Farm turned out to be a dissapointment. I have 5 cars a house and a business insured with them for over 10 years. Their website says they iinsure replica cars here in Canada but when I asked about insuring mine they said they do not do replica cars over $45,000. I don't understand that policy. Their loss. Where is this Sunday cruise Brian?
